Friendship of iPhone and Mac as the main trend for iPhone-developers in 2010.

iPhone / iPod touch may be an ideal device for wireless control of applications for your Mac. While the word ‘application’ may make the heart sick, let’s dwell of the most exciting thing, games. Wii owners know what I mean. They have long appreciated their wireless joysticks, and are sure there is nothing as good. Well, we believe we, a multi-million Apple-community, have something to take pride in. :)

Although iPhone proper is virtually an ideal gaming platform, it turns into a full-value game device when combined with a desktop computer! The graphical capabilities of your powerful Mac multiplied by a convenient wireless control – there is nothing like that?

Let’s get down to the practice. Presently, our company is about to finish the work on The Pinball game project, which are popular and liked by many pinball games Wild West, The Deep and Jungle Style ported from iPhone for MacOS. Serious graphics’ improvements were certainly essential. And, of course, it would not do without a remote control, because it is The Pinball which is intended to demonstrate how interesting this idea is. With the help of Pinball Remote utility accessible ‘for free’ in AppStore, you can gain a full control over the game. Starting up the ball into the game, keeping the flippers under control, shaking the table and operating the camera, doing all these being stretched out on your sofa with an iPhone / iPod touch in your hands in a couple of matters from you huge TV screen connected to Mac! ;-)

And this is not the whole story…

Pinball Remote utility is not only a wireless joystick to play The Pinball; it is a full value store. Without getting off the couch, you can buy new tables, which are immediately accessible on your Mac’s screen. Available are also all other functions of our games, which are now standard: local and global scores Help system, Gameprom company news and other.

It is our belief that the remote control proper and the games shop that renders support, as well as porting of the projects with iPhone for Mac will become the trend for the community of iPhone-developers to follow this year.

The recent iPad announcement is to contribute to it. The advantages are obvious: not only the mac-games development price is reduced, but also the users are offered a convenient environment for games control. AppStore is the ideal shop assuming many useful functions, such as content limitation, advertisements, ranking, etc. Why not use all these helpful tools hands-off to expand Mac-games?

How does the integrated store for buying tables fit to your “it’s free” mentioned here: http://gameprom.com/blog/2009/11/wild-west-pinball-for-macos-x/ ?

I’ve read the article twice but couldn’t find how iPhone and the MAC connect. Is it via Bluetooth? I don’t have an iMAC but a MacBook Pro. Are the capabilities the same when you mention “…graphical capabilities of your powerful Mac…”? Or will The Pinball not work as well on the MacBook Pro?

    Thanks.

    1. Pinball Remote can be connected to The Pinball via wi-fi connection.
    2. The Pinball support all Intel based Macs with NVIDIA or ATI graphics cards.

    Iphone remote control doesn’t work

    - Mac and Iphone are registered in the same local wifi network
    - The Pinball is started on the Mac
    - I start pinball remote on IPhone
    - in setup->servers i choose the mac
    - go back to main screen of the remote
    - when i select ‘play’ i got the message ‘You should connect your mac and iPhone in one wifi network’
    - when i close the pinball app on the mac the iPhone remote says ‘lost connection’

So the connection between them seems to have been established, but i can not play…

    What’s wrong?

Same happened to me. Can´t get it to work. I don´t know what could be wrong. :(

Question: If I already purchased Jungle Style and Deep Pinball for the iPhone, do I have to buy them again in order to play them in “The Pinball”?

Suggestion: Please add ball rolling sound. That would bring so much realism into the game. It´s kinda funny when the ball rolls on the table dead silently.

I can’t make an in-game purchase with either iOS 3 (iPod) or iOS 4 (iPhone 4 or iPad). The screen after pressing the BUY button just freezes the app in iOS 4 (I can exit that screen in iOS 3, but no purchase is made).

You have two versions of the application for Mac OSX: The Pinball and Pinball HD. I purchased Pinball HD through the new App store and was able to play all three boards. However I can only play the unlocked WildWest with the Pinball Remote. So the remote is functional with both games, but the content I paid for in Pinball HD is only available if I buy it again with the (non-functioning) in-app purchase.
