Great to see the new features due in the next update. I am one of rare few people who like the cheesy voice acting, but I would ask that you consider removing the line “I’m in deep a**” that triggers on a game over.

I’m no prude when it come to swearing but this is completely out of place and has meant I cannot let my nephew play this game.

I really don’t think mild swearing has any place in a pinball game!

    A great table otherwise..

Swearing at the game over??? I would say get rid of that!! But thank you for making it 2.0 compatible!

Wow Ned Flanders, does the swearing really effect you that much. Hi-diddly-ho that’s lame you don’t let your kid play this game. Are you Mormon or something? BTW thank you for the update. It fixed alot of problems that needed to be fixed.

Just leave him alone. Hopefully it comes out next week or something. I don’t think updates take as long to be approved and it’s not limited to being release on Tuesdays.

great game, however i would like to see some tweaks made with the checkpoints. its seems that some are unnecessarily difficult to hit, namely the one by the dockyard and the one near the yellow bouncers. there’s no rhyme or reason for how to clear them and when they show up as a checkpoint i just want to start over because i know they’ll be nearly impossible to hit.

  7. Outlanes says:

    August 11th, 2009 at 3:08 am (#)

    @Sean:
Shooting the docks is doable, although it is harder than the rest of the possible checkpoints during the green mission.

Hitting the targets above the tornado takes a lot of tries and a bit of luck.

What needs to be fixed is the checkpoints at the outlanes. If one of these checkpoints is chosen, the kickback should be re-enabled. You can even get the same target twice, and then it’s impossible without draining…

Thanks for listening to us. These fixes will make the game more fun.

And definitely get rid of I’m in deep ass. It makes no sense. Except maybe in a porn film.

By far the best pinball game yet (and one of the best games I’ve played on the iPhone, period).
I really bought this for my 7 & 8 year-old kids that love pinball on my phone, but I had to ditch it when my little girl start repeating things she heard like “Damn!” and “I’m in deep ass”.
I’m not sure that the infrequent but expletives add much to such a GREAT quality game otherwise. I’m glad that you will be able to turn off the voices, but you shouldn’t have to. I didn’t complain about it in a review yet, but clean it up in the new update – PLEASE!!

I LOVE this Game.. Can’t Wait for the Update! Also, I think it’s saying at the end “I’m In Deep S”, as if to say “I’m In Deep Sh@t”, but without saying the full word. That makes much more sense than “I’m in Deep A@s”.. don’t You think? Either way, Personally, I don’t really think it’s a big deal. I mean, we’re more than half-way through 2009. If your kids don’t know what “A@s’ or “Sh@t” is by know, than You must be living the life of “Ossie and Harriet”.. and even in the 50’s, that wasn’t for real. :P

It seems to me that we need a wish list forum. There are a ton of great ideas from the various pinball freaks out there. I think Gameprom is on their way to becoming the premier pinball creator for the iphone (if not already). Maybe there should be a separate Gameprom user forum- where we can share our tips and tricks.

Here are my comments. I posted them before to a stale thread.

    1) for those of you who want to know how to get energy, hit all three of the targets in the middle of the table. They ensure you will get the treasure chest opened. The other way to do it is to just shoot the treasure chest 2x in a row. That usually works but sometimes it does not. If you have the energy targets lit you hear an additional woosh when you go up the ramp to the chest.

    2) The sunken ship is a real pain. It scores about the same as the bank in WWP but TDP table seems to score about 10x as much as WWP. I HATE doing great on the sunken boat and then only getting around 50K. Seems a waste….just 10x the score and maybe make it harder to enter the boat like also requiring energy.

    3) The missions are too inconsistent…some are trivial some are hard. Green, Blue, Yellow, and Red all get harder as you go, but boat dock is one of the Green missions and it it hard to land a 3 balls in the boat dock (when you are aming) and is a bit furstrating. On the Yellow missions some of them demand you drain the ball down the side which doesn’t seem “fair”.

    4) The boat dock- the score multipliers are nice but what would be much more interesting is to make have it REPAIR one or 2 of your side lanes/drains if you can light all three docks. I thought that was what the assistent means by make repairs. Would be very interesting to implement.

    5) The sunken ship is so low scoring it gets in the way of the ~500,000 you get from the chest so in the end you tend to avoid the sunken boat. Not good since it is kind of cool. Again 10x score for the sunken ship would be nice.

    6) I get an “oh no” very often when I hit the top hunting target for no reason…looks like a bug.

    7) I just read bumping the side drains works…I have never saved a ball from the side drain espeically difficult since you can’t see them as both sides are covered.

Hunting- really cool and fun. Why not add a few more varieties of rare things to hunt aside from teh shark? Maybe give you more points for more rare. The male voice says “nice” even when you hit bubble targets. Sometimes you get no shark and just 3 bubble targets….too bad….but understandable.

    9) There aren’t verey many times you can watch your score since you are busy as soon as I open up the chest the score indicats you get treasure but does not tell you how much…..flashing what you just earned for all of the big scoring items would be nice.

    10) I have no complaints about the whirl pool like many do BUT the targets above the whirl pool are only possible to hit at random….that espeically sucks when they are part of a mission.

    11) There should be some extra bonus for completing each mission level and/or checkpoint.

Most of these are minor grips…all in all I have got WAY more then my 0.99 worth already!!!

Loving the game. And I’m glad that you’re listening to your users!

I’ve been playing this a lot, and now I’m wanting to play some pinball on my Mac. Does anyone know of a really good / comparable mac 3d pinball game that has really great physics like TDP does on the iPhone?

Good to see updates coming so quickly. Thanks, Gameprom.

I’m one who likes the female “advise” voice. It adds to the character and story of the game. It also provides useful status information. But, I find the commentary from the male voice annoying and pointless. How about hiring the female voice actor back to replace the male voice with more relevant game play information? For instance, she could tell you where to look for the current mission checkpoint. Sometimes the camera hides it from view until the ball goes there by chance.

I will welcome the option to turn off the music. It’s stuck in my head because I can’t stop playing this game! ;-)

The One thing I would Really Like to see changed is having Checkpoints Removed from the “Out-lanes”. I mean, if You’ve already gone down one of those lanes in the current ball, you’re going to loose it anyway. I think putting in a setting where if You’ve already activated the gate in an out-lane, than a checkpoint should not be lit there.

And Yes, the Guy’s Voice is getting Annoying.. especially when He says something like “Money Money Money”.. Ugh! :P

Not only do you need to change the voice but what’s up with the lady and the Mike Tyson face tattoo, way out of place.

Really nice table, but please could you remove the completely unnecessary swearing.

Not entirely sure why you felt to include this… I really can’t have my nephew or niece repeating this.

  18. Dave says:

QUESTION: Is there a target that resets the side “out lane” plunger gates? If so, that would address the compaints about having checkpoints there.

  19. Chato Feo says:

    August 13th, 2009 at 2:51 am (#)

You can reset the out lane gates by hitting all three targets above the whirlpool. It’s practically impossible, as others have noted, as there are few skill shots that will take you there. Basically, you have to somehow float a ball into the whirlpool area and pray that it spins it into one of the targets. I play all the time (high schore: 23M+)and have only done it three times.

Found a bug last night and I can reproduce – when the game ends and you don’t get a high score, there is a slight pause. If you click one of your flippers during that pause and hold it, it gets stuck “up” the next time you start a game. Not a huge deal, but thought you guys should know.

I’ll also voice my disapproval for the swearing – doesn’t make any sense to have it in the game. It doesn’t bother me, but it seems like you’re going to lose/miss out on sales if people find out about it.

That bug exsists in WWP too but after you start a new game it crashes.

This game was a big disappointment after Wild West Pinball. The voices are annoying, the music is annoying. The sunken boat gives no points. I expected another classy game and got this mediocre game instead.

    To Jeff:

It’s Apple and their slow approval system that’s causing the hold up, Friend. All a developer can do is submit, wait, and hope Apple isn’t too backed up with other app and updates that are also waiting to get approved.

This is a nice pinball game and I think the price is fair. I’ll voice the same as others above, re: the swearing, some minor issues, and enhancement requests. In addition, I’ve just run across one bug I haven’t seen before. I’ve gotten the ball stalled on the top right entrance ramp (above the whirlpool). I wouldn’t think it would be possible, and it was on the first ball of what was looking like my best game so far (of course…:-)) Not being able to “bump” the machine leaves little option but to quit the game:-(.
Fun game, though, and looking forward to the update!

Lose the dickhead swearing and maybe the update will get approved in a reasonable timeframe.

Gameprom has really screwed itself with its “grandstanding”. They were hoping the bad language conflict would spur sales, but it totally backfired.

Whoever approved this code at Gameprom should be in “Deep Ass”.

That’s what I don’t get about Apple and their approval process. I can’t understand how they can approve 10,000 “Fart” or “Crap” apps.. yet they have a problem with the word “Ass”? Does that make any sense to anyone? :P

I see someone asked the same question, but I didn’t see an answer. This version says there are all these option you can change – voice on/off etc etc, but I cannot for the life of me find out how to get to any menu to actually change these options! Can someone please tell me how to access the options menu? Thanks very much.

Very good game by the way… You should take a look at “The Black Knight” pinball game from the 80’s – the best one I have ever seen (a physical table I mean). If you made a version of this I am sure it would sell like hot cakes!

it seems that i-tunes has not approved the update that will do the controls of voice
and i-tunes store application page for The Deep still says upgrade in few day that has been on for weeks

So i-Tunes is commiting FRAUD still saying same on sales page
