Arnold Kim, Touch Arcade

“The physics and sounds of the game are specifically designed to make the game “feel right” and give pinball fans the closest feel to actually being on a machine.”

Erik Fikkert, AppVee

“…it’s a very good game indeed and probably the best digital pin table I’ve seen in a long time.”

Sir Digby, AllAboutTheGames

“Fantastic 3D pinball table and animations. Very crisp visuals, and a buttery smooth frame rate. It doesn’t get any more realistic than this.”

Matt Dunn, iPhoneGamesNetwork

“…there’s no title screen, no front end interface or needless menu navigation. You tap, and you’re instantly in. It’s really clean, and as long as you aren’t expecting some sort of epic experience in your pinball, it’s perfect given the nature of mobile gaming.”

I also noticed that using pingbacks is a nice way to inform us review sites of updates, because we get these pibgbacks as mail ;)

I love Wild West and am almost adicted to it, but it seems to perform worse on my iPhone classic under OS 3.0 The game hangs or freezes for fractions of a second several times a minute. Maybe you need to optimize it for 3.0?

are there any controls active or anything you can do when the shootout with Harry takes place?

I love WWP - it’s my most played game on the iphone. Like Steve I haven’t worked out if there’s anything I can do to shoot Harry. Going a step further, what I would like is a user guide for me to understand how the point scoring works etc so I can play with a bit more strategy.

  8. Jeff says:

    June 25th, 2009 at 1:32 am (#)

There is something that really annoys me when playing WWP: when the ball drops on the lower right corner and it is being kicked back to the table, the ball will fall back to the lowerer right corner again and the ball is lost… :-(
Maybe you need to change the force when the ball is being kicked back to make sure it will not drop right back.

  9. Jeff says:

to improve the game feeling, i would love to have some music. please include a nice theme for the table.

Great game, but would really like to see a zoomless option. Viewing the whole table provides a peripheral view of the balls trajectory. Often I can’t see my flippers to gauge combination saves for flip backs. It would be nice to list the games objectives as well. The tiny outline type on the 3D motion review is hard to read.

  15. deaf dumb & blind kid says:

    July 1st, 2009 at 10:24 am (#)

Agree GeoKan re games objectives & scoring as I requested in my blog above.

Re peripheral view, I found the zoomed view disconcerting initially, but I’d have to say I have got used to it and now quite like it.

Even with 1.1 on my iPhone 3G it still stutters every so often. Hopefully this won’t occur on the Deep Pinball game.

    excellent. simple and fun.
one suggestion: enable screen invert, ive accidentally hit the menu button in the middle of some of my best games - score lost, game gone - too many times, lol.

    great job overall. thank you!

Wild West pinball is really a nice that i am enjoying a lot. The only thing is that i am loosing about 90% of the balls uncontrollable through the sideways on the left and right side. Thats annoying and makes no fun after a while.

Great game graphics but frustrating play — too random and easy to lose a ball and no idea what some of the active items are for. Hitting Harry is like most of the game. Flailing away is often the best approach. Like many have noted, the right chute returns the ball to a bumper that just pushes it back down the chute and is lost.

    I dig it!

COuld use multiball, extra ball, invert, zoomed out mode, and some info on how to shoot harry. I know that you can make the arrow change directions…but…is that all? Is there a better way?

  29. ReiVi dela Cruz says:

Really cool game. I can hardly put it down. I’ve never been good at pinball so breaking the 1 million mark was an achievement for me. LOL.

Great, great work. Awesome price too. :)

To shoot Harry: Use left & right flippers to keep aiming point centered.

To stop ball going straight back down right chute: Shake the phone just as it reaches the top bumper.

    another tip:
to regenerate the side chute save, complete the top triple target, next to the indian village. between this and using the tilt to avoid the bump back, the side chute becomes relatively safe.

anyone has managed to use the back door to get into the bank?
and what about the ‘missions’ at the bar?

  34. Michael says:

    July 31st, 2009 at 12:31 am (#)

How do you use the back door to enter the bank? Also, got in the bank once and front door closed not allowing ball to exit. How does one make this happen again?

  35. Koataylor says:

    July 31st, 2009 at 6:29 am (#)

I don’t think you can enter the bank through the back door. It’s where you escape! Make sense? Other than that, I have no idea how to score big in this game. Put out an FAQ already!!

  36. Shoot Harry bug says:

    August 5th, 2009 at 3:24 am (#)

It’s possible to put the game in a bad state by activating the shoot Harry mission. Rarely, the ball can get stuck in the ‘back door’.

The only way out is to end your game with the menu hard button.

I caught a screen shot - the developers have my email from this posting. Fire me an email and I will send the screen shot.

It has happened at least twice to me.

You can turn off the music in the iPhone settings app. Click settings and scroll all the way down to find WWP settings. Change it to iPod then there will only be music if you first start an ipod song.

There is a major bug with both Wild West and The Deep. If a text message comes in, or you pause and the phone locks, the gameplay after this is very chunky and unplayable. I have lost some great potential scores because of this. When will you release a fix for this?
